About GIET-FT

The newly established Global Institute of Emerging Technologies – Future Team (GIET–Future Team) at The Education University of Hong Kong is a key research centre dedicated to promoting the innovation and application of emerging technologies in STEAM and other fields.

 

The GIET–Future Team is actively involved in research projects and organises international academic events. The 2025 "Harvard–EdUHK–Stanford Joint Symposium" was successfully held in Hong Kong. This event brought together leading scholars and industry experts from around the world. The forum offered a variety of formats to facilitate in-depth discussions, including keynote speeches, parallel sessions, workshops, and poster presentations. These sessions covered a range of cutting-edge topics, such as large language models and computing education, AI-powered digital learning resources, robotics development, and embodied cognition. 

 

GIET–Future Team leverages its extensive partner network to explore and apply cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, extended reality, and machine learning, in various aspects of its operations, such as teaching practices, talent development, and professional training. The team is also committed to advancing educational equity and inclusive development, providing ongoing momentum for educational transformation and innovation.
